Certificate IV in NatHERS Assessment - CPP41212

CPP41212 - Certificate IV in NatHERS Assessment

Get the hands-on knowledge and skills you need to become an Accredited NatHERS Assessor.

Kickstart your career in a rapidly expanding sector or build on your current skills with the CPP41212 Certificate IV in NatHERS Assessment. We’ll give you the knowledge you need to assess residential building plans for thermal performance and potential improvements, and understand what it takes to promote thermal efficiency in today’s houses.

In 2015 there were 228,950 new buildings approved in Australia. At the same time there were 289 Accredited NatHERS Assessors operating nationally. With over 70% of new buildings being rated by Accredited NatHERS Assessors, a huge opportunity exists to earn extra income.

By becoming an Accredited NatHERS Assessor, you will join the small number of energy raters across Australia who are recognised as professionals in their field.

Become an Accredited NatHERs Assessor

The CPP41212 Certificate IV is designed to tick the boxes of assessors operating under the Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS), which promotes the use of residential building materials that help to reduce heating and cooling.

Once completed, you’ll be able to apply for registration (accreditation) as an energy rater or assessor with the Building Designers Association Victoria (BDAV) and the Association of Building Sustainability Assessors (ABSA).

Only Accredited NatHERS Assessors can issue the coloured Accredited Universal Certificate and stamp plans with the official NatHERS logo – this satisfies the competence requirements to conduct ratings in all jurisdictions and complete BASIX assessments for Development Applications for multi-storey unit developments in NSW. This qualification also has the units required for the Victorian Residential Scorecard.
